Description

Producer of IGP beans, marked Pays Cathare and member of the Route du Cassoulet.

For 40 years, Marc Cauhopé has been cultivating this Lauragais terroir, renowned for its cereals (sunflowers, durum wheat, etc.) but also for its pulses (beans, lentils, chickpeas). He was involved in the ‘Castelnaudary bean’ adventure: a white bean of the lingot variety, which is the basic ingredient in the cassoulet recipe.
In 20 years, its taste has won over gourmets, restaurateurs in the region and small local canneries, earning it a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) from Europe in 2020.

Farm sales by appointment: white beans, green lentils, chickpeas and Lauragais honey.
Sold in farmers’ shops in Montpellier, Narbonne, Béziers, Perpignan, etc.
And in local grocery stores in Villepinte, Villasavary, etc.

Visits for groups are possible by appointment.
