A Film by Dominique Besnehard
With a playful face, cat-like eyes crowned by adorable freckles, and a sexy silhouette, Marlène Jobert is one of those actresses whose radiant beauty evokes no provocation. Her thousand “sun kisses,” as she calls her freckles, highlight the uniqueness of her lovely face, making her unforgettable.
A mischievous and witty actress, Marlène Jobert built an eclectic career, spanning popular comedies, social dramas, television, and the silver screen. With nearly thirty feature films shot over three decades, her prolific filmography also establishes her as one of the most popular actresses of the 1970s and 1980s. She left a lasting impression with her memorable performances as the vibrant Anne in L’Astragale or the lively Charlotte in Les Mariés de l’An II…
Just as she had carved out an unassailable and uniquely her own place in the industry, it was with the birth of her daughters that Marlène Jobert discovered a new facet of her talent: storytelling. From then on, she stepped back from her film career to dedicate herself to writing and recording books and poems for children. This late vocation was richly rewarded, as today several schools proudly bear her name on their facades.
