Description
The Naurouze obelisk was built between 1825 and 1827 in honour of Pierre-Paul Riquet, on the Naurouze rocks, and stands 20 metres high. The Seuil de Naurouze, whose symbol is the obelisk, is the highest point on the Canal du Midi, which links the Mediterranean to the Atlantic and separates the Massif Central (to the north) from the Pyrenees (to the south).
