Katia and Marielle Labèque are renowned for the fusion and energy of their duo. They are regularly invited by the most prestigious orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Dresden Staatskapelle, Filarmonica della Scala, Leipzig Gewandhaus, London Symphony, London Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Philadelphia Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Vienna Philharmonic, under the direction of John Adams, Semyon Bychkov, Sir Colin Davis, Gustavo Dudamel, Gustavo Gimeno, Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla, Pietari Inkinen, Louis Langrée, Zubin Mehta, Juanjo Mena, Andres Orozco-Estrada, Seiji Ozawa, Antonio Pappano, Matthias Pintscher, Georges Pretre, Sir Simon Rattle, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Jaap van Zweden. They also perform with baroque music ensembles such as The Age of Enlightenment and Sir Simon Rattle, The English Baroque Soloists and Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Il Giardino Armonico and Giovanni Antonini, Musica Antica and Reinhard Goebel, Venice Baroque and Andrea Marcon, and Il Pomo d’Oro and Maxim Emelyanychev. Katia and Marielle have had the privilege of working with many composers such as Thomas Adès, Louis Andriessen, Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Bryce Dessner, Philip Glass, Osvaldo Golijov, György Ligeti, Nico Muhly, and Olivier Messiaen. They premiered Philip Glass’s concerto at the Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel. In London, they premiered Bryce Dessner’s concerto at the Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic and Jon Storgards, and Nico Muhly’s concerto “In Certain Circles” at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Orchestre de Paris and Maxim Emelyanychev in 2021. The American premiere of this work took place at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2022 under the direction of Jaap van Zweden. Among the prestigious theaters and festivals where they perform are the Vienna Musikverein, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie de Berlin, Philharmonie de Paris and Maison de la Radio, Gasteig Munich, Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Teatro alla Scala, Hollywood Bowl, Lucerne Festival, Ludwigsburg Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, the BBC Proms, Ravinia, Tanglewood, and the Salzburger Festspiele.
