Description

On Monday 15 July, get ready for an evening of rock with a double bill of legends: The Stranglers + Status Quo!

8.30pm: The Stranglers

Formed in 1974, the provocative Stranglers are set to thrill audiences once again with their distinctive British sound! The setlist is tailor-made for live performance, with classics such as “Golden Brown”, “Always The Sun”, “No More Heroes” and “Peaches”, plus tracks from their latest album, Dark Matters, released in 2021. Expect a few surprises too… During their last tour, the band reworked certain elements that will be added to the hits that have paved their career for a unique show. The Stranglers are undoubtedly one of the most exciting and influential British bands of recent decades, with 24 Top 40 singles and 18 Top 40 albums to their name.

“Every Stranglers concert is an event, a sultry encounter between reality and dream, a balance between fury and beauty”.
“Forty years after their first hit, “No More Heroes”, they’re still at the top of the charts, launched in the face of disco at the end of the 70s”.

10pm: Status Quo

With a career spanning over 50 years, Status Quo is a British rock legend. The band has left an unforgettable mark on the world of rock’n’roll with its boogie rock style since its inception in 1962. With over 130 million records sold, Status Quo continue to create, improve and play as they have for over half a century. Their hits “Pictures of Matchstick Men”, “In the Army Now”, “Rockin All Over the World” and their 5,500 concerts have left their mark on millions of people and made Status Quo a true monument to rock music. In August 2023, the band released Live in Amsterdam, the starting point for a carefully curated selection of iconic Status Quo performances, which will be released as the Official Archive Series and will include classic hits from their extensive back catalogue, deeper cuts and fan favourites. The album has been freshly mixed and mastered by Eike Freese and Laurin Halberstadt at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg.
